Happy Mother's Day!

My first Mother's Day as a mom! It was such a great day! Not only did I get to spend it with my brand new baby girl, but my Mom also! She is the GREATEST!

McRae Elizabeth Mecham

McRae Elizabeth Mecham made her debut on Monday May 4th at 5:22 p.m. This is her story. I woke up Monday morning around 7:30 a.m. in the worst pain of my life! I knew that this was it! Luckily my mom was in town from Georgia and sleeping the spare bedroom. I frantically woke her up and told her to get ready FAST... this is it! She thought I was just being a weenie and wanted to make sure that I was really in labor. So she took her sweet little time getting ready as I'm in the middle of the living room floor rolling around in pain. Once she finally was ready, I was in so much pain I could hardly get dressed. Once I threw on some sweats and was on my way out to the car, Mom says "i'll be right out, i'm going to use the bathroom." I yelled"NO, you can go at the hospital!" We got the hospital around 9:00 a.m. I was already dialated to a four and within minutes got an epidural! I was in heaven! Jace came from work and got to the hospital after shortly after my epidural kicked in. I was glad that he didn't have to see me in pain. From then on... it was pretty much cake! Every hour the nurse came to check on me. An hour went by and I was dialated to a six. An hour later, an eight, and an hour later a ten. I was pain free the whole time :) Once I got to a ten, Doctor Jacob came in and said that the baby hadn't dropped down as low as he wanted her to be. He decided to let me wait and rest for an hour to let my body push her down on its own so it wouldn't take as long to push. After an hour he came back and the pushing began... Two and a half hours later... still no baby. The doctor said that this was going to be a big baby. He knew that I was exhausted from pushing and not much progress had been made. He then told me that he would try to use the forceps and if it didn't work, a c-section would need to be done. I started bawling and praying that she would come out with the forceps. After only a few pushes and help with the forceps, McRae was born! It was a miracle! Our baby is healthy and beautiful and we couldn't be more grateful! We are so glad that she is FINALLY here!

We LOVE her!
We are so grateful for the love and support from our friends and family! Especially for my Mom who helped us for two WHOLE weeks! We were so sad to see her leave! I hope I can be as good of a mom as she is! We LOVE her!
